This original section is a fully searchable resource that brings researchers straightforward and comprehensive information from product suppliers on their latest kits, reagents and instruments.
Product Protocols come from leading Biological Supply and Technology companies. These are fully searchable and accessible by all users, including non-subscribers. Product Protocols are full sets of instructions for various experimental techniques that use a supplier’s products, not press releases or announcements. The standard search on CSH Protocols searches the full text of both CSH-provided Protocols and Product Protocols, giving users a variety of options for performing their experiments.
Kits are self-contained sets of products that require no additional reagents to perform an experimental technique. Manufacturers generally offer kits to save time and effort for laboratory scientists. The Find a Kit section of CSH Protocols contains fully searchable sets of instructions for using kits provided by leading Biological Supply and Technology companies. Users can search directly for Kits, or—coming soon—users will be given an option within every search to find kits for their experimental procedure.
The difference between a Kit and a Product Protocol is that a Kit is a set of instructions and a specific self-contained set of products that require no outside reagents to perform an experimental technique, whereas a Product Protocol is a set of instructions for a procedure that uses one (or more) of a particular company’s products.
