INTRODUCTION

Random spore analysis is used to examine meiotic recombination without performing tetrad analysis.


MATERIALS

Appropriate yeast culture

cautionß-glucuronidase, 100 units/µl (Sigma)

recipe Sporulation medium

recipe Synthetic Complete (SC)-arg plates, containing 60 µg/ml of canavanine

recipe YPD plate

Equipment

Conical polystyrene tube, 15 ml
